Terms, privacy, refunds and our AI disclosure, written in plain language. The seller and operator is Lathewright LLC, a California limited liability company. Questions go to [email protected].
Terms of service
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
"We", "us" and "Lathewright" mean Lathewright LLC. These terms cover this website, our studio and automation services, our developer products, and our tools for agents. Tools for agents also run under Apify's terms, and developer products are sold under the merchant of record's purchase terms; where those conflict with these, those apply to the purchase itself and these apply to everything else.
2. Orders, prices and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page and are fixed for the scope described there. Payment is taken by the processor named at checkout (Stripe, the merchant of record, or Apify). We never hold your card details. Taxes are added at checkout where the processor is required to collect them.
An order for studio or automation work becomes a contract when we confirm scope, price and date in writing and you pay. If we cannot do the job, we say so in writing and nothing is charged.
3. Studio work
You send a written brief and the materials for it. We deliver a watermarked preview within the stated turnaround. You may approve it, request changes (two rounds are included; further rounds are quoted in writing), or decline it and owe nothing. On approval and payment we deliver the final files without watermark.
On payment, you own the final deliverable. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you send us, including logos, screenshots, footage and music. We may show the finished work in our own portfolio unless you tell us in writing not to.
4. Automation work
We work inside your accounts through collaborator or staff access that you grant and can revoke at any time. We never ask for passwords. The scope and a pass/fail test are agreed in writing before work starts. If the agreed test fails within 14 days of handover because of our work, we fix it at no charge. We are not responsible for changes the platforms make after handover, or for changes made by others to what we built.
5. Developer products
A purchase gives you a licence to use the product in your own projects, including commercial ones, with updates for twelve months. You may not resell, redistribute or offer the product as your own. Products are provided as described on their page; beyond that description, they are provided as is.
6. Tools for agents
Our tools run on Apify under Apify's terms and are billed by Apify. You are responsible for using the data they return lawfully. We may withdraw or change a tool when its source changes or its terms require it; where we can, we give notice on the tool's page.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use anything we make to send spam, harass people, collect personal data without a lawful basis, infringe anyone's rights, or break the law. We may refuse or stop work that would do any of these.
8. Reviews and public statements
We do not write, buy or generate reviews or testimonials. We ask that you do not post a review of us that you were paid or rewarded for, and that any review you do post reflects your own experience.
9. Limits of liability
Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or lost-profit damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Disputes and law
These terms are governed by the laws of California. If something goes wrong, write to us first; most problems are fixed in a few emails. Any dispute that is not resolved in writing is heard in the state or federal courts located in California.
11. Changes
When these terms change, the new version is posted here with its date. Continued use of the site or our services after that date means you accept the new version.
Privacy policy
What we collect
- What you send us. Through the intake form or by email: your name or company, email address, links, your brief and a budget range if you give one.
- Order details. When you buy, the payment processor passes us your name, email, what you bought and the amount. We never receive card numbers.
- Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, records the IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not combine these logs with anything else.
- Nothing else. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. If we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool later, this page will say so first.
How we use it
To reply to you, to do the work you ordered, to invoice and support you, and to meet legal obligations such as tax records. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.
Who receives it
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and handles its traffic.
- The form service that receives intake submissions. It is named here when it is connected.
- Google Workspace, which runs our email.
- Stripe, Lemon Squeezy and Apify, each only for purchases made through it.
- AI systems, which process what you send in order to draft our replies and do the work. We use Anthropic's models. We do not use your data to train models of our own.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Briefs and correspondence: while we work together and for two years after, so we can answer follow-up questions. Order records: seven years, for tax. Server logs: as long as Cloudflare keeps them, which is a short period. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. People in the EU and UK have the same rights under the GDPR; our lawful basis is the contract with you and our legitimate interest in running the business. To exercise any right, email [email protected] from the address you used with us; that is how we verify it is you. We answer within 30 days and do not treat you differently for asking.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across other sites, and we set no tracking cookies, so a browser's Do Not Track signal changes nothing here: there is nothing to turn off.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to our systems is limited and logged. Payment details are handled entirely by the processors.
Changes
Changes are posted here with a new effective date. If a change matters to existing customers, we also email them.
Refund policy
- Studio videos. You see a watermarked preview before you pay. If you do not approve it, you do not pay. After you approve a cut and pay, the sale is final, because the deliverable is the one you approved. If a final file is faulty, for example a corrupt export or the wrong format, we re-deliver it at no charge.
- Automation work. A pass/fail test is agreed in writing before we start. If the work fails that test and we cannot make it pass within 14 days, we refund the order in full. Monthly operations can be cancelled any month; the month in progress is not refunded.
- Developer products. If a product does not do what its page says, tell us within 14 days of purchase. We first try to fix it within 7 days; if we cannot, we refund it. One refund per product per customer.
- Tools for agents. Apify bills these per event, and a failed run does not charge for results it did not produce. For a disputed charge, write to us with the run ID and we work it out with you and, where needed, with Apify. Apify's refund terms govern the charge itself.
- How to ask. Email [email protected] with the order or run reference. We reply within two business days. Refunds go back to the original payment method through the processor, usually within five to ten business days.
AI disclosure
Lathewright is operated by AI systems under human ownership. A person reviews and approves everything we publish, send and sell.
What is automated
Research, writing, design, code, testing, rendering video, building automations, reading our inboxes and drafting replies are done by AI systems. Where a platform asks for AI-made content to be labelled, we label it.
What a person does
A person owns the company, reviews and approves everything before it is published, sent or sold, signs every agreement, and controls every account and every payment. Nothing leaves the company without that review.
Automated messages
Any message we send without a person approving it, such as an acknowledgement that a form was received, says that it is automated. We do not use automated systems to pass as a person, to influence a purchase, or to influence a vote. This is the behaviour that California's bot disclosure law (Business and Professions Code sections 17940 to 17943) and the EU AI Act's transparency rules require, and we follow both wherever you are.
Reviews, email and personas
We do not create or buy fake reviews or testimonials, which the Federal Trade Commission's rule on consumer reviews prohibits. Any marketing email we send carries a postal address and a working unsubscribe, as CAN-SPAM requires, and we send none to people who did not ask for it. We do not invent people, names or faces.
Asking for a person
Write to [email protected] and say so. A person reads it.
